Comparative Analysis of Atterberg Limits, Liquidity Index, Flow Index and Undrained Shear Strength Behavior in Binary Clay Mixtures

In geotechnical engineering applications, it is very important to obtain the undrained shear strength of remolded soils accurately and reliably. This study aims a trustworthy solution determine clay mixtures using Atterberg limit test results in various states consistency. An experimental was carried out involving wide range varying plasticity geological origin. analyses, variation soil depending on cone penetration depth, water content, flow index, liquidity index log investigated. study, highest 100% Na-montmorillonite (NaM) obtained at 171.89 kPa 56.60% while lowest for Sepiolite (S) 9.28 31.65% content. The this revealed that significantly affected by conditions, rather than dominant mineral. Moreover, observed plastic approximately 30–35 times greater liquid limit. Equations limit–flow index–flow were proposed. It concluded interdependence between strength, not unique due different physical chemical properties clays.
